Vipassana International Academy
VIA, is today the principal world centre of Vipassana Meditation.
It is the first Vipassana meditation center in India, for teaching
the vipassana meditation technique, was set up at Igatpuri by S.N. Goenka.
The center was given the name of 'Dhamma Giri: Hill of Dhamma'.
Today, it is the principle center of Vipassana meditation in the world.

Vipassana Research Institute
The Vipassana Research Institute (VRI) was established
in 1985 for the purpose of conducting research into the
sources and applications of the Vipassana Meditation Technique.
The VRI is adjacent to Dhamma Giri located in Igatpuri, a small town about 136
km from Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, India.
